By AIA Corpus Christi

Overview

AIA Corpus Christi November Chapter Meeting.

The Corpus Christi Chapter of the American Institute of Architects is excited to announce the 2025 Accessibility Workshop at our Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Chapter Meeting.

Learn how to translate Accessible requirements into simple and clear guidelines to alleviate the construction “hiccups” that we all may have experienced on job sites. Through real project case studies, plan review checklists, and common “gotchas,” you will learn tips and tricks on how to avoid costly revisions and rework. This knowledge will help guide you through a smoother transition from design to substantial completion. There will be updates on the status of the TAS (Texas Accessibility Standards) and time for Q&A.

This program is perfect for architects, interior designers, contractors, engineers, students, tradesman, facility owners, and facility managers seeking actionable guidance, not just code citations.

The presenter, Emily D. Rozypal, AIA, RAS, is a licensed architect and Texas Registered Accessibility Specialist with extensive experience in accessible design. She has reviewed and inspected hundreds of projects for accessibility compliance, from all disciplines, and consults on plan reviews, inspections, and remediation strategies for architectural barrier removal. Her approach blends technical precision with practical and field-tested solutions.

You will earn 2 LU/HSW. (This presentation will also meet the TBAE Barrier-free design course requirement)

Dinner and beverages included.
