About this event
Create a traditional paddle used by Northwood's travelers for hundreds of years. In this 2-day workshop you will learn wood selection and wood grain considerations as well as paddle sizing, and the theory of shape as applied to handles, shafts, and blades. Participants will leave the course with a custom designed canoe paddle constructed with simple hand tools, including a traditional spoke shave and block plane. The second day can be scheduled in coordination with the instructor to also work with your schedule. Feel free to bring your own tools if you have them.
