The Nordic Urban Lab is an independent forum for interdisciplinary perspectives around the issues of developing a more human and culturally rooted urban understanding and practice, initiated and organised by Metropolis Copenhagen.

After Nordic Labs in Copenhagen, Helsinki and Gothenburg, NUL is now a loose network of 400 architects, planners, anthropologists, designers, visual and performance artists, activists, researchers, community organisers and local authority representatives.

Metropolis and HeterArt organise the fourth Nordic Urban Lab in Athens as a Greek-Nordic dialogue about the role of art/culture in relation to creating open, vibrant and sustainable cities.

18 Nordic and 18 Greek speakers are invited to talk about the challenges and dilemmas we have in common across cultures and borders and how we learn from each other's experiences.

The themes for Studio Athens on the 9 & 10 October are:

- culture & urbanism

- cities & citizenship

- reviving communities & neighbourhoods

- artistic practice in the urban context

Wa(L)king Athens. Walks and Talks. On Sunday 11 October we have invited Greek artists and urbanists to stream on online in 12 neighbourhoods in Athens.
