In August of 2010, a Craigslist ad called out for musicians who wanted to play big band jazz. Soon a small, but enthusiastic, group of eager players gathered in a church basement in North Portland to make music together. From these humble beginnings, the NoPo Big Band was born.

Now, 15 years and countless performances later, we invite you to celebrate one of Portland's premier jazz ensembles with an unforgettable night of entertainment!

Under the direction of acclaimed trumpeter Scott Anderson, NoPo is thrilled to bring you a sensational line up of dynamic big band music, spanning multiple genres and eras as showcased by 17 of Portland's finest players.

Is this an accessible venue?

All events in the theater or lounge space are fully accessible. There is reserved handicapped parking located on the Mallory Avenue side of the building and a fully ramped entrance. Please contact info@albertaabbey.org for any accessibility arrangements.
