Event description

Description

This 3-week series is for people on a self-development or spiritual path to improve their presence and communication skills. We will draw on Nonviolent Communication (a self-connection and collaboration framework), mindfulness, and improvisational exercises to build our capacity to express ourselves more freely and connect more deeply with others. The series will focus on role play and embodied practice so that we connect with parts of ourselves that may not show up in our everyday personality. The intention is for embodiment, authentic connection, and courage to be more accessible in our regular lives.

Participants will learn:

  • How to connect with and honor their needs even when other people don’t

  • How to navigate conflict so it can be a gateway to greater understanding and intimacy

  • How to have more fun and freedom in dialogue

  • How to become familiar with parts of themselves that might be hidden from their own view

Some experience in Nonviolent Communication is helpful, but not necessary.

This is a one night per week, 3-week commitment.

3 Wednesdays evenings in November: 6th, 13th, 20th from 6:30 - 8:15.

Participation limited to 20.

Cost: $90 – $280 sliding scale for the series, based on your ability to pay. $50 deposit required for registration or contact us. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Scholarships are available for People of Color and anyone who needs it. Please send requests and questions to phoenixsoleil@gmail.com. Please consider your economic class when deciding how much to pay.

Class refers to where you and your family fit into the world regarding finances (for example: poor, working-class, middle class, wealthy). We want to be accessible to all. If you and your family are people who can pay more to support this work so that others can attend, please consider doing so.

If you aren't sure what your class background is, you can check out this resource on class: https://collectiveliberation.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/Leondar-Wright_Working-Definitions_of_Class.pdf
