NOMADICA - Featuring Martha Wainwright (Rufus Wainwright, Leonard Cohen), the Scorchio Quartet (Philip Glass); consisting of founder and electric violist Martha Mooke (David Bowie), Lorenza Ponce (Enya), Leah Collof (Trey Anastasio), Frederika Krier (Sly and the Family Stone), and the vocal ensemble Tonality (Bjork). Martha Mooke is a GRAMMY® Award-Winning, pioneering electric violist/composer. She is the founder and Artistic Director of the Grammy-winning Scorchio Quartet, featured on David Bowie's Heathen. Mooke has toured with Barbra Streisand, Andrea Bocelli, and Peter Gabriel, and worked with David Bowie, Philip Glass, Elton John, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, and Tony Bennett, among others. She is featured on Laurie Anderson's recent Nonesuch release, Amelia, and is Chair of the Music, Dance, and Theatre Department and Director of the Multi-Style Strings program at NJCU. Martha is featured on Carla Patullo's SO SHE HOWLS album, as well as her latest album, NOMADICA.
Carla Patullo is a GRAMMY® Award-Winning artist, composer, and songwriter whose music bridges cinematic soundscapes with healing techniques. Her 2024 album, So She Howls, emerged from a personal near-death experience and won the GRAMMY® Award for Best New Age, Ambient or Chant Album, and was praised for its primal, cathartic blend of orchestral textures, dreamy vocals, and electronic atmospheres. Drawing on themes of grief, resilience, and transformation, Carla often weaves personal narrative into her compositions. Her new album, NOMADICA, revisits the sudden loss of her mother in a car accident and features world-renowned collaborators Martha Wainwright, the Scorchio Quartet, and Tonality. As a composer, Carla’s work spans film and television projects for Disney+, HBO, PBS, Tribeca, Sundance, and SXSW. She has shared the stage with Sandra Bernhard, Liza Minnelli, Rufus Wainwright, and more.
