About this event

Science & Tech • Medicine

This workshop introduces no-code, low-code, and AI-assisted “vibe coding” for research applications aimed at faculty and students. No prior coding experience is assumed. Participants will learn how to create applications ranging from data-driven dashboards and creative visualizations to discipline-specific AI tools and educational or research apps—all with minimal coding skills needed.

We will explore Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet and Opus models, using their Artifact Coding environment to build both deterministic and probabilistic applications. You’ll see how to connect Anthropic’s billion- and trillion-parameter probabilistic models to your projects, opening new possibilities for innovation, research and discovery.

Through demonstrations, we’ll showcase easy-to-build applications, discuss when and how to scale to more complex development, and point you toward next-generation AI coding editors and other tools for advanced needs.

All UCR community members are welcome to attend. Make sure to register with your UCR email. Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants one hour before the workshop starts. Participants are expected to follow and uphold UC Riverside's Principles of Community.
