Brooke Trantor is an Actor & Filmmaker based in Los Angeles for the past 15 years. After making 15+ short films, she is now in development on her first feature film, Maine Street. She is writing, producing, and will star & direct in the film -- and most excitedly anticipates bringing this production back to Quincy, Illinois, to celebrate her hometown.

At the Night of Short Films: Brooke Trantor Retrospective, Brooke will be screening a selection of her short films from the past decade in partnership with Arts Quincy and The State Street Theater. She looks forward to familiarizing the community with her work, hosting a moderated Q&A, as well as showing a teaser pitch of her upcoming feature film, and opening the room to questions and inquiry about her journey as a Hollywood filmmaker.

Brooke Trantor is a Director / Actor / Writer / Producer based in Los Angeles. She graduated Illinois Wesleyan University with a BFA in Acting and studied Shakespeare at The British American Drama Academy. Her true passion lies in the improv and the comedy world, where she has studied, taught, and performed at various institutions including Second City, UCB, Groundlings, and iO West for 14+ years. Some recent credits include HBO’s "Perry Mason", NBC’s "The Enemy Within", TNT’s "Cocaine Cowboys Pilot", a lead in the comedy feature film "Misfits", acting alongside Shirley MacLaine in "The Last Word", and an upcoming feature film acting opposite Lily Gladstone.

Brooke’s films have screened internationally on the festival circuit, procuring awards including Best Director, Best Actress, and the Powerful Voice Award. Her film, "Oh, Baby!", won Best Film: Audience Choice Award at the esteemed 2021 Dances With Films LA, Best Director at Broad Humor Film Festival 2023, and many other awards on the circuit. She has just completed a handful of films including Katie Mancuso’s "Shadow Work", Lydian Blossom’s "Nut Milk In May", and Emily Grace’s "The Pigeon", all anticipated for a 2026 festival circuit run. Brooke is in development on several projects including a spinoff TV series based on "Oh, Baby!", a Comedy-Horror feature film, a single-camera comedy, "Wild Woman", and her debut feature film, "Maine Street", to be filmed in her charming hometown of Quincy, Illinois. Currently she is often collaborating with production companies such as Pink Among Men and Picture 304, passionate about bringing a variety of women's stories to the big screen and in everyday media. Brooke is drawn to stories and scripts that tend to live in the dramedy world, finding the comedy in life’s seemingly dark moments.
