Join NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA) for a virtual conversation with Claire Demorest, writer and producer for television. Most recently Claire was a producer and writer on Dick Wolf's CBS procedural show FBI. We will discuss Claire's experience in the industry, her work on FBI, the procedural television landscape, and advice she has for emerging creatives in the industry.
Claire Demorest grew up in Hillsborough, NC, a small town outside of Chapel Hill that the Wall Street Journal declared "America's Little Literary Town." The daughter of daytime soap opera writers, Claire was raised in a community of novelists and artists who helped shape her love of nuanced Southern characters -- and her die-hard loyalty to UNC basketball. She began her career in LA as an assistant, working for writer Craig Turk under his overall deal at CBS. Most recently, she was a producer on Dick Wolf's CBS procedural FBI, writing fifteen episodes over the course of her five-season tenure.
