About this event

Often touted as our "most fun" class, Newborn Care (In-person) is an interactive program where you will learn the ins and outs of caring for your newborn. Gain the skills to confidently identify and address your baby's needs while exploring ways to nurture and soothe your little one.

Class Length: One session, 3 hours

Class Fee: $100 per couple

What you will learn:

  • Newborn appearance
  • How to hold your baby
  • Shopping for your baby
  • Bathing your newborn and umbilical cord care
  • Diapering
  • Dressing your newborn
  • Feeding
  • Swaddling
  • Safe sleeping environment
  • Why does your baby cry?
  • Signs of an illness and tips for preventing an illness
  • Car seats

Your instructor will model swaddling, dressing, and diapering and all participants will have the option to practice using an infant doll model. All dolls will be sanitized prior to your class. We provide onesies, diapers, swaddles and blankets for you to practice with, or you are welcome to bring your own.

When to take the class: We recommend taking this class in your 3rd trimester, unless your physician has advised otherwise. This class is offered 2-3 times a month.

Alternative format: This class is also offered in an online format live via Zoom.
