About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Join New York Theatre Workshop for a Summer Salon at Vineyard Arts Project, an evening in community with the artists in residence featuring light bites, drinks, and sharings of new theatrical works-in-progress by Tony-nominated director Liesl Tommy (Eclipsed, Aretha Franklin biopic Respect), Tony nominee Daniel J. Watts (Lights Out: Nat “King” Cole, Tina), Obie winner Garlia Cornelia Jones (48 Hours In… Harlem) and the team behind Song of the Sea, a new adaptation of Cartoon Saloon’s Oscar-nominated film. Song of the Sea will be led by Obie and Lortel award-winning playwright Hansol Jung (Merry Me, Wolf Play) and director Séimi Campbell (Songs for a New World at London Palladium).

We are artists. We are producers. We are audience members. We are neighbors. We are New York Theatre Workshop: not just one of America’s leading not-for-profit theatres, but a community of people seeking to better understand our world through theatre. We are committed to creating spaces that are inclusive, safe, and respectful for all artists, guests, and members of our community. We ask that everyone attending this event read and embrace the NYTW Core Values by visiting NYTW.org/CoreValues.
