Welcome 2026 with laughter as Apex Entertainment hosts its fourth New Year's Eve Comedy Night.
Doors open at 6 with buffet at 6:30 and showtime at 8 p.m.
Top Boston Comedians Jason Merrill and 2025 Boston Comedy Festival Winner Liam McGurk co-headline the end-of-year event at Apex Entertainment Marlborough on Wednesday, December 31. Plus, the show is hosted by 2025 South Shore Comedy Clash champion Ethan Cannon, a rising star in Boston comedy.
Advance sale show-only tickets are $35 and VIP tables (4 seats, table service) are $170.
Additionally, buffet dinner-and-show tickets are $65, and dinner-show VIP tables (4 seats, table service) $260.
Apex also brings back it's popular New Year's Eve Asian buffet, which includes:
- General Tso’s Chicken with Broccoli
- Asian Stir Fry
- Fried Rice
- Mini Vegetable Spring Rolls

With an act that’s one part Saturday-morning cartoon character and one part pro-wrestler, Jason Merrill is becoming one of Boston's ost sought-after headliners. The latest in a line of strong comedians from the great city of Lawrence, Massachusetts, he has impressed audiences with his streetwise, animated style and good-natured exuberance. He has performed at the Hampton Beach Comedy Festival, the shared the stage with other top comedians such as Juston McKinney, Lenny Clarke, Christine Hurley, Joe Yannetty, and Steve Sweeney.
His win in the 2025 Boston Comedy Festival simply confirmed what many in the Boston comedy community already knew: that Liam McGurk could become the next national breakout star from Boston. Known for his laid-back demeanor and cerebral, creative material, he was also selected for Tubi TV’s No Filter All Funny and for the 10,000 Laughs Festival in Minneapolis in 2025. He has performed in Thunderfest, and the Hampton Beach Comedy Festival, the Cape Fear Comedy Festival and Rogue Island Comedy Festival. He was voted Laugh Boston's Funniest Comedian in Massachusetts 2019.
Ethan Cannon performs stand-up nightly around Boston and New England, at venues ranging from Off Cabot Comedy Club, the Comedy Studio, Don't Tell Comedy, and Improv Asylum. He recently performed in the Boston Comedy Festival as well as Last Comix Standing at Mohegan Sun's Comix Roadhouse.
