Can my children take part in the event?

As DBW Charity is a children's charity, we welcome children at our event. Each child taking part MUST be accompanied by an adult who will take full responsibility for them during the event.

Is the run off road?

The route for our NYE Fun Run follows the road from Talgarth to Bronllys and back. The distance is approx 5km. No off road running is required.

Question 3

Is the run marshalled?

Accepted Answer

The run is fully marshalled at 10 points along the route. The route is also fully sign posted and is very easy to follow. Maps are provided beforehand at Talgarth Town Hall for you to familiarise yourself with the route before setting off.

Will I need his-vis clothing?

Accepted Answer

High vis clothing and head torches are essential for the event. Feel free to dress up, we've had many people run in fairy lights!!

Question 5

What time should I show up?

Accepted Answer

The run starts promptly at 6.30pm. You can check in for the event and gather with friends inside the hall from 5.45pm.

Question 6

Can I bring my family who are not running?

Accepted Answer

Family and friend supporters are welcome at the event and can join you in the Town Hall and wait for you to complete the run. They are also welcome to partake in refreshments for a donation into our charity bucket on the night.

Is the event timed?

Accepted Answer

Our event is not timed, it is simply a Fun Run to begin your New Year celebrations. It's a wonderful event to be a part of and is attended by approx 150 runners each year.

Do you issue refunds?

I'm afraid that as this event is a charity fundraiser we do not offer refunds should you be unable to make the event.

Question 9

Will the event take place if the weather forecast is not good?

Accepted Answer

Unless we are issued with a severe weather warning, our event will take place.

Question 10

Can I run with a buggy?

Accepted Answer

The fun run is on pavement and road. Yes, you can run with a buggy, but please be aware that the pavement from Talgarth to Bronllys is narrow in places.
