New Year's Day Reflection Workshop
Overview
2025 was really...something. It's taken a toll on many of us, but there may also be some valuable lessons to glean from it. Are you looking forward to a fresh start or wanting to let go of the emotional and mental weight of this year's challenges? Are rigid, judgmental, unattainable "resolutions" not your jam? Are you looking for a way to be purposeful but also kind and realistic?
Join Steph Fowler, LCPC, CADC of Misfit Mental Health for this 90-minute workshop for an opportunity to reflect on the year, decide what to let go of, and discern where you want to focus in the year ahead.
Create a cozy space at home and tune in for:
- Guided journaling
- Gentle regulation skills
- Release ritual
- Self-compassion practices
- Intention-setting
ABOUT YOUR HOST:
Steph Fowler, LCPC, CADC (she/they)is a neurodivergent and disabled clinical therapist/trainer/coach and recovering perfectionist living with Long COVID for nearly 6 years. She has been featured in TIME Magazine, PBS News Hour, Medscape and many other outlets.
EVENT NOTES:
This will be an introvert-friendly, low spoons event that is intended to be mostly self-contained. Captions will be available and reflection prompts will appear in writing on the screen. Participants are encouraged make any accommodations needed to make the event accessible - attend from bed, change their name on Zoom for anonymity, keep their cameras off, adjust relaxation and visualization practices to their comfort, etc. The chat will be open for questions and comments, but the primary format will be guided journaling/reflective writing. There will be short guided relaxation and visualization practices that are optional.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a notebook to write responses to reflection prompts. (Science suggests handwriting engages different parts of our brains compared to typing, but whatever method is accessible or preferred works! If you process more artistically, bring whatever medium you prefer.) Your responses are for your use only, and are not expected to be shared. There will be a brief OPTIONAL invitation to share at the end, for anyone who finds that speaking intentions makes them more real or actionable.
This event will NOT be recorded. A self-guided version (written list of the reflection prompts, regulation practices, and release rituals to do on your own time) will be available soon on the Misfit Mental Health Ko-Fi page at a reduced price.
