New Tech for Creatives: The next generation of connected media

Calling all Filmmakers, YouTubers, podcasters, TV, and radio producers, public speakers and presenters, mixed media artists, and tech geeks!

Join Trail Nine Media, ToneTip, and other media creators at the Salt Lake Sprague Branch Library (in Sugarhouse) for a sneak peek into the new innovation of audio QR codes- enhancing communication and creativity in film, YouTube, TV, radio, speaking, podcast production, and more! The new ToneTip technology allows creators to insert inaudible audio clips coded with links into their media, leading to the expansion of the depth and quality of information received by their audiences through an accompanying app. Come learn and be a part of the conversation around its impact, use, and the future of connected media. We will present demos across multiple media types, and have time for media-specific feedback and questions.

Whether you're an experienced media creator or just starting out, this event is perfect for anyone interested in reaching their audiences in a new way. Don’t miss this opportunity to elevate your creative projects and stay ahead in the evolving media industry!

Presenters:

Holly Tuckett

Holly is a renowned documentary filmmaker, whose work intricately ties her liberal arts education to her passion for social activism and storytelling. Her filmography includes the award-winning Church & State, a deep dive into the legal battle for same-sex marriage in Utah, showcasing her ability to weave compelling narratives with significant social themes. Holly’s recent documentary, Anchor Point, highlights women wildland fire fighters, gaining acclaim for its inspirational message and call for change in work culture. Beyond her directorial and producing roles, Holly actively engages with audiences, amplifying marginalized voices through discussions and public forums, solidifying her reputation as a filmmaker deeply committed to societal change. Currently, in a bit of a departure from her previous works, Holly is directing and producing United States of Bourbon. A comedic YouTube docu-series, about the intersection of chemistry, art and relationships. USoB, as it is intentionally known, follows four comical characters; a broadway musical director, a broadway actor, a DC Illustrator and film composer as they tour and taste at the great bourbon distilleries of America. All of them bonding over their love of America’s number one spirit, Bourbon.

Patti Hobfoll

Patti also produced the filming of San Francisco’s 2021, 2022, and 2023 Day of the Dead Festival of Altars and subsequent live stream, working closely with the festival organizers to capture the joy, reverence, and cultural celebrations of the beloved festival. Another favorite credit includes documentary production for Frank Mancuso: In his own Words, a 40 minute retrospective on the former president and CEO of Paramount Pictures.

Before co-founding Trail Nine Media, Patti served as Head of Production for Philadelphia-based production company Main Gate Media House, spearheading meaningful content projects and leveraging top cinematographers, directors, and producers. She managed projects for large pharmaceutical corporations such as The Medicines Company and Teva, universities such as West Point USMA, as well as government agencies such as The United States Forest Service.
