Hailed as the world’s leading clarinet and saxophone duo, Duo Entre-Nous presents the world premiere of a work by Zachary Good, the American premiere of Chris Dench's "Poly(m)etric Threads", and music by NMC composers Megan DiGeorgio and Ben Zucker.Duo Entre-Nous is a clarinet and saxophone ensemble dedicated to the evolution and continued progression of new music. Formed in 2014 by Jackie Glazier and Don-Paul Kahl, the duo particularly focuses on the performance and commission of a new repertoire for this combination. Thus far the duo has commissioned composers from five different continents and 10 different countries, garnering new pieces in a variety of different styles, ranging from music inspired by folk traditions and pop music to the avant-garde. In particular, the duo supports the commissioning of composers from underrepresented groups, seeking to aid the creation and promotion of their works. New Music Chicago Presents series brings a new body of repertoire and innovative performances to listeners in Chicago and beyond while also exposing new audiences to the world-class new music being created among Chicago musicians, in partnership with the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) and Experimental Sound Studio.
