New Session!! Leading for Biliteracy: Strategies and Tools for Program Success

This virtual session is designed for school and district leaders, program coordinators, and leadership teams—especially those guiding or supporting dual language and biliteracy programs in PreK–12 settings.

Using protocols from The Biliteracy Handbook, this highly interactive institute helps teams apply field-tested tools that reflect a well-implemented dual language/biliteracy program:

  • Develop a shared program vision and pedagogy
  • Create or refine a language and content allocation plan
  • Build biliteracy schedules
  • Evaluate the biliteracy curriculum
  • Create tools to ensure that optimal instruction occurs in every dual language program

Participants will explore how biliteracy structures work together as a cohesive system to support the three pillars of dual language education and align with the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education. The session includes guidance around planning, real-life examples, and time for reflection designed to move your program forward—whether you're launching or refining your biliteracy model.

Target Audience:

  • School and district administrators
  • Dual language program leadership teams (including teacher leaders)
  • Programs including: 80/20 and 50/50 One-Way and Two-Way Dual Language, Late-Exit Transitional Bilingual Education/Developmental or Maintenance Bilingual Programs

Format & Schedule:This is a one-day, live Zoom session.
