Educators are teaching in classrooms where students bring a wide range of learning needs, communication styles, and emotional experiences. Understanding neurodiversity isn’t just helpful it's essential for creating learning environments where all children can thrive.
This free 90-minute virtual workshop is designed for teachers, support staff, school leaders, and anyone working directly with youth. Participants will explore practical strategies for supporting neurodiverse students, strengthening classroom relationships, and building daily practices that reduce stress—for both students and educators.
During this interactive session, participants will:
- Learn foundational concepts of neurodiversity and why they matter in today’s classrooms
- Explore trauma-informed, restorative, and relationship-based approaches
- Discover tools to support self-regulation, emotional safety, and connection
- Reflect on how adult mindset and classroom systems shape student outcomes
- Engage in discussion and Q&A with an expert in early childhood and peace education
About Your Facilitator
Susanna Ramos Lambert, M.Ed., has served the field of early childhood education since 2002. Her work in peace education began during her time as a public Montessori teacher, where she developed a deep appreciation for child-centered learning environments. Susanna brings extensive training in non-violent crisis intervention and trauma-informed practices, recognizing how this therapeutic lens strengthens the mission of Peaceful Schools NC.
With a master’s degree in Leadership, Policy, and Advocacy, Susanna is passionate about enhancing the well-being of educators. She believes that when teachers are supported—emotionally and professionally—school communities become healthier places for students, staff, and families.
This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
