Nest Check: Strolling Science
By CREW Land & Water Trust
Overview
Explore how we can use bird nests for data collection and research!
So many birds call CREW home either year round or during specific nesting seasons. Studying nesting behaviors and population sizes can help better understand each species of bird, as well as assess the health of an ecosystem and it's resources. Join Dr. Oscar Johnson for a guided walk through the CREW Flint Pen Strand Trails as we check nests for a variety of bird species nesting on site including purple martins, screech owls, and blue birds.
