Question 1

The event registration is full. Is there an option to be added to a waitlist?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once registration is full, families are able to register on the waitlist. The waitlist does not guarantee a ticket. If more tickets for Thanksgiving meals come available, you may receive an email that a ticket has been made available for your family allowing 24 hours to register.

Question 2

Registration is full. Can I register as a volunteer instead to receive food?

Accepted Answer

No. Please do not register as a volunteer unless you are willing to help at the event. If food registration tickets are full, please add your name to the waitlist. If you would like to receive food AND volunteer, please register for both ticket types.

Question 3

Can I arrive early to receive my food before the event starts?

Accepted Answer

No. The event begins at 12pm. Please be patient with members and volunteers as New Life SDA Church serves approximately 120-150 families each year at this event. Please plan accordingly as there may be a wait. Please email us at outreach@nlsdac.com to coordinate an alternate food pick-up, if needed.

Question 4

I have a lot of friends and family that need food. Can I register multiple times?

Accepted Answer

No. Please only register for your family. Oftentimes, families register multiple times and collect multiple tickets; although, they only collect 1 food bag. This restricts other families in need from obtaining food. Please limit registration to 1 ticket per family.

Question 5

My friend or family member registered but are unable to attend. Can I pickup food for them?

Accepted Answer

Yes. If your friend or family member is unable to attend, you can pickup their food on their behalf. Please request that they forward you a copy of their Eventbrite email confirmation.

Question 6

I have additional physical, mental, or spiritual needs. Will someone be available to help me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our first priority is to make sure our community not only receives physical food, but also to address their mental and spiritual health. Please do not suffer in silence. When you arrive, please notify one of our church members and they will direct you to an Elder to support you.

Question 7

Do I need to bring anything with me to the event?

Accepted Answer

If available, please bring your own reusable shopping bag. Some of the food items can get a bit heavy. New Life SDA Church has a limited number of reusable shopping bags.

Question 8

I registered to volunteer. What time should I arrive?

Accepted Answer

All volunteers are asked to arrive 1 hour before the start of the event. If you have questions before the event, please feel free to contact us at outreach@nlsdac.com.
