‘Navigator plus’ Three Hour Technical Navigation Course, Peak District

The Right on Course ‘Navigator Plus’ is aimed at those who have already had plenty of experience with map and compass (for example by attending the Right on Course ‘Navigator’) and want to feel more confident employing some of the more technical techniques of navigation on remote moors and hills in poor visibility or the dark. After a safety brief we’ll head out onto open moorland to see if we can locate some of the areas more ‘challenging to find’ features.

Starting before dusk we’ll try to get some practice in before it gets dark and then practice our advanced skills. The course will go ahead in all weathers, please come prepared and wear suitable hiking boots, waterproofs, warm layers, bring a drink and a snack.

There are no specific Learning Outcomes for this course but Steve will tailor his instruction to work on the more advanced navigation techniques.
