Navigating Winter with a Disability

By Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corporation
Online event

Overview

Winter brings unique challenges for people with disabilities. Join us to explore barriers, supports, and ways to protect mental wellbeing.

Winter can be especially challenging for people with disabilities. Shorter days, colder weather, disrupted routines, increased isolation, pain flares, sensory changes, and financial stress can all impact mental wellbeing during the winter months.

This webinar explores why winter can feel heavier for people with disabilities and focuses on practical, real-world strategies and supports that can help. Participants will gain a better understanding of common winter-related barriers, learn ways to navigate seasonal challenges, and explore resources that support mental wellbeing, self-advocacy, and stability during this time of year.

This session is educational and informational in nature. It is not a counseling or therapy session, and it will not include diagnosis or clinical treatment. The focus is on awareness, normalization, practical strategies, and connection to supports and resources that individuals can use.
