Event description

Description

Struggling to talk to your teen about sex in a hyper-sexualized world? Join Cindy Pierce, Author, Speaker and Comic Storyteller for “Navigating the Influences of Peers, Media and Technology,” A FREE educational talk for parents hosted by Charlestown Health and Development (CHAD) with support from the Charlestown Mother’s Association (CMA) and the Charlestown Coalition.

The talk is geared towards parents of teenagers between 7th and 12th grade, but all parents and guardians are encouraged to attend. Cindy will also have copies of her book, Sexploitation for sale at the talk.

Cindy uses humor, expert opinion, personal anecdotes, and student feedback to help parents talk with their teen about:

  • Forming values independent from those of peers and society
  • Developing concrete tools and tactics to stick to these values
  • Making healthy life choices with perspective

Due to limited space, there is a 100 person capacity
