Webinar Description:

Work with a top legal education expert in a small group setting to address your special education questions and concerns. Present your challenges and receive expert feedback on evaluations, due process hearings, and IEP implementation. Review strategies to address parent or professional disagreements with evaluations, handling IEP implementation challenges, and ensuring that IEPs are appropriately ambitious for meaningful student progress. Learn effective approaches on how to work with parents and professionals as well as legal strategies to ensure children receive the help they need. Participants can role play challenging situations while being coached on the words that work. Join fellow educators to share difficult challenges and gain a deeper understanding of parents rights to help parents during their special education journey.

Objectives:

The participants will be able to…

1. Evaluate the legal requirements and protocols when a CSE refuses to conduct an evaluation or when disagreeing with evaluation results.

2. Analyze key components of due process hearings, including preparation, filing timelines, and understanding witness testimony expectations.

3. Identify best practices for effective IEP meetings, focusing on ensuring mandates are implemented and progress is meaningful for students.
