About Alison Coleman

For the last 15 years, Alison has managed 19 NYS prison visiting centers, through the Osborne Association. She was a prison family member for 25 years and as such, created Prison Families of New York, Inc. in the early 1980s. She has a historical perspective on incarceration as well as a wealth of information on finessing the prison and prison visiting experience. Alison enjoys teaching prison basics, as well as more advanced topics like programs, transfers, pre-release and reentry.
