Navigating Through Change & Transition

Change can take many forms. It can affect every part of our lives. It occurs in our family, at work, and in our social lives. While we cannot always control change, we can control how we react and respond.

In this session, we will:

  • Describe and compare change and transition
  • Understand the change curve
  • Identify effective methods for navigating the transition process
  • Review key strategies for self-management & self-motivation
  • Identify tips and resources and develop action plan

Presenter:

David Ethier, MBA, MSL    

Dave EthierDavid is a Learning and Development Consultant at Brown University’s Center for Learning & Professional Development doing leadership development, consulting, and coaching for staff and faculty. He has over 30 years of business experience in marketing, insurance, investments and learning and development where he developed, implemented, and managed an international leadership development program.David is an adjunct faculty member at Nichols College and Northeastern University College of Professional Studies teaching in the Master in Leadership Program. He has an MBA, a Master of Science in Leadership, is a Professional Coach and a certified facilitator for TalentSmart Emotional Intelligence, FranklinCovey, AchieveGlobal, and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). David has presented in front of groups ranging from 3 three to several hundred all over the world and teaches Effective Speaking to college students, staff at all levels, coaches and conducts workshops on being an effective presenter including a Presentation Skills Certificate Program.

Fee: A fee of $75.00 per participant will be billed to each institution, which includes parking and continental breakfast.

What are my parking options?

Parking will be provided near the workshop location. Participants must park in the assigned lot in order to have their parking validated, no exceptions.

How do I pay for this event?

RIHETC will bill your institution directly for the workshop fee. Contact your Human Resources Office with questions regarding your institution's policy on professional development.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, that is not necessary.

What is the refund policy?

If you find you can no longer attend, we always suggest that you first try to find someone else from your institution who can attend in your place. We are only able to accept cancellations made prior to 15 days from the event date. Cancellations made less than 15 days from the event date cannot be refunded and your institution will be charged for your ticket whether you attend or not. You may transfer your ticket to someone else at your institution at any time, however. Contact your Human Resources Office with institution specific questions.
