What is it?
Nature Fun is a program offered by Scout Island Nature Centre. Children register for a single day at a time and participate in child-led creative projects, form friendships, and explore nature!
Note, families are welcome to register for as many or as few days as they wish. This will require resubmitting the form through the EventBrite website for each day (we understand that this is less than ideal)
When is it?
Drop-off: 9:30-10:00
Pick-up: 2:00-2:30
Teaching Philosophy
Instruction and play are founded on reciprocity with the natural world, child-led exploration, and a sense of wonder. Programs are designed for a dozen or less children to ensure child-focused interactions.
Children should bring:
- Sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat
- A garbage-free snack + lunch (chidren can win prizes for lunches with no garbage!)
- A large water bottle
- A change of clothes
- Weather appropriate clothing
- Optional: Nature journal and simple art supplies (pencils, erasers, pencil crayons)

A Note on Participation:
Participation in Scout Island programs involves extensive time outdoors, rain or shine. Participation may also involve encounters with insects, spiders, ticks, leeches, and/or other wildlife. Participants who find these conditions uncomfortable are not advised to register.
4-year-olds must be entering Kindergarten to register

Wild Week Junior: A four day program for ages 6-9. Runs July 21-24. 9:30-2:30, $110/week
Wild Week Senior: A four day program for ages 8-13. Runs August 5-8. 8:30-4:30, $130/week
