Nature-Based Solutions for Coastal Hazards Workshop (By invitation only)
Welcome to our Nature-Based Solutions for Coastal Hazards Workshop! Join us for a day filled with insightful discussions and hands-on activities focused on how nature can help mitigate coastal hazards. Learn from experts in the field and network with like-minded individuals and practitioners. This workshop is a great opportunity to delve into innovative ways to protect our coastlines using nature's own resources. This hands-on workshop prepares participants to plan and implement green (natural) infrastructure projects to reduce natural coastal hazards in their community.
The workshop consists of the following two parts:
Part 1: The Basics
- A self-guided online module that covers foundational concepts prior to attending the in-person event.
Part 2: Developing a Strategy
- An in-person one-day event where participants interact with their peers and local experts to develop a nature-based, green infrastructure strategy.
Continuing education credits available:
Participants can earn eight hours of certification maintenance credits approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners, and seven core continuing education credits through the Association of State Floodplain Managers.
