Rooted & Regulated: Nature-Based Play Therapy for Sensory and Somatic Integration explores how natural environments can support children’s sensory processing, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. Grounded in play therapy principles, this training integrates somatic awareness, sensory-rich activities, and nature’s rhythms to foster nervous system flexibility and resilience. Participants will learn practical, creative, and culturally responsive approaches for using nature as a co-therapist in outdoor, indoor, and telehealth settings.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the theoretical foundations and evidence-based benefits of integrating nature into play therapy for sensory and somatic regulation.
  2. Implement at least three nature-informed play therapy interventions that support sensory integration and nervous system regulation in children.
  3. Adapt nature-based activities for diverse settings, client needs, and cultural contexts while maintaining ethical and safety considerations.
