About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Please join us for a beautiful afternoon, collaborating with nature in a beautiful place. Working in partnership with nature can be a deeply nurturing experience. You will learn about responsible foraging, design principles, and construction techniques. We'll walk around the Grove finding elements to include, and we'll create small individual pieces and a group mandala, as a gift to the Grove.

All materials and tools will be supplied, but if you have something special from your garden, or a token you would like to add to our group mandala, you are welcome to.

Dress in layers. We'll be working in the meadow; I'll have blankets we can use to sit on the grass, but you may want to bring something sturdier.

I look forward to seeing you!

Frequently asked questions

What's the parking situation?

Parking is free within Golden Gate Park, but can be challenging on a weekend. Be sure to leave plenty of time to find a spot! There's a paid garage by the museums, which is a short walk away.

What will the weather be like? Is this event rain or shine?

This is San Francisco, so the weather is likely to change throughout the day. Layers are always advisable. In the event of rain, though it's unlikely this time of year, we will have to reschedule.

Do I need to have experience making art or working with plants?

No! No experience is necessary. We'll teach you about connecting with nature and letting yourself be guided.
