This informative, interactive and humorous presentation will focus on skills parents can use to help teens reduce stress and improve mental health. Specifically, Dr. Bellace will demonstrate exercises using relaxation training and meditation, as well as cognitive behavioral techniques such as reframing and writing therapy. In addition, the concept of natural highs (e.g. running, cold water emersion, helping others, etc.) will be presented as an alternative to substance misuse and abuse. The goal is to help improve the quality of life for both parents and their teens. There will be time at the end for questions and answers, as well as purchasing a signed copy of one of Dr. Bellace’s books.
