Native Seedling Planting in the Virginia Pinelands

Join The Nature Conservancy (TNC) to help plant native forbs and grasses at our Raccoon Creek property (Yale, VA)! TNC is working to conserve historic loblolly and longleaf pine forests and the variety of life they support across the Virginia Pinelands. With partners, we have started a groundcover & pollinator habitat restoration project to increase the pace and scale that native grasses and wildflowers spread, and we need your help!

Volunteers must be comfortable walking in forested conditions carrying supplies (small seedlings & dibble bars/shovels), outside in various weather conditions, for about 3 hours.

Please wear long sleeve pants and shirts, and sturdy closed toe boots or shoes as the ground can be slippery or wet. Bring water, lunch and bug spray if desired. Mosquitoes and ticks are common in this area.

This is a rain or shine event, but we will cancel if storms are severe.
