National Academy of Inventors Annual Celebration
Overview
Innovate Carolina invites you to an evening celebrating innovation and exploring the journey from academic discovery to patient impact.
Join us for an inspiring talk by Tony Voiers, Chief Operating Officer of Continuity Biosciences. Tony will share insights from his experience leading UNC startup Focal Medical (formerly Advanced Chemotherapy Technologies) through its acquisition by Continuity Biosciences, where the company is now advancing site-specific chemotherapy using iontophoresis technology for pancreatic cancer treatment. His presentation will explore how identifying and pursuing unmet medical needs can transform academic innovations into therapies that make a real difference for patients.
As part of the evening's program, we are honored to recognize the second annual class of inductees into the UNC National Academy of Inventors Chapter. This year's inductees join our growing community of exceptional inventors whose groundbreaking work has significantly advanced innovation at UNC-Chapel Hill. Since its founding in 2010, NAI champions inventors with U.S. patents by recognizing their contributions, advancing academic innovation, and raising public awareness about the societal benefits of its members' work.
The program will be followed by a networking reception where you can connect with our innovation community, meet this year's inductees, and continue the conversation with fellow innovators.
