Frequently asked questions

Is this really free?

Yes. It is really free.

Who are the volunteers?

Dojos are run by amazing, supportive volunteers who give their time to support kids and teens. Safety is of utmost concern in the CoderDojo. All volunteers, whether WNCP staff, community volunteers, or older student mentors must pass a background check and complete safeguarding training.

Can I leave my child at CoderDojo camp?

If your child is over age 12, then yes they may attend camp without you. If they are 12 or younger, they will need a responsible adult assigned to look after them. No more than 5 children per adult, please. Our volunteers are there to help mentor technology projects.

What does my child need to bring?

A desire to learn and participate with the club. Computers are provided, but bring a laptop if you like. Preferably with someone available who has admin rights in case something needs to be installed for a certain project. That can be the Ninja or their Guardian.

What should my child wear?

Dress comfortably. We will be both inside and out (weather permitting). And there will be a lot of moving around during many of the projects.

Is the facility handicapped accessible?

Yes, for the areas we will be utilizing it is all one level and no stairs.

Will there be food?

Lunch and snacks will be served every day. Please let us know when you register if there are any special dietary concerns or allergies.

Do I need to be a member of your church?

No. This is a community program where the church is providing space and supporting our mission. We are a non-profit group part of the larger CoderDojo clubs.
