Malcolm X ( May 19, 1925 - February 21, 1965) advocated the importance and necessity of developing independent Black politics and institutions.

The New Afrikan Independence Party was formed on February 21, 2012 in recognition and response to the currenct conditions of the Black/New Afrikan community and in honor of Brother Malcolm.
