Join us as we have age-appropriate discussion about topics such as effective birth control, STIs, reproductive health, abstinence and consent, and "the talk" ("the talk" is a session for parents only).

Participants can choose 2 topics to explore via virtual breakout rooms. Each room will feature an expert who will deliver a presentation on the topic and an interactive activity for the opportunity win prizes.

Topic 1: Let’s Talk Birth Control

Description: Students will receive a brief overview of the various forms of birth control methods on the market. The speaker will explain what birth control is, break down how birth control works, and how effective each method is. An ASAF representative will explain how to get LARCS methods from ASAF.

Topic 2: Let’s Talk STI’s

Description: Students will receive information about the most common STIs in Memphis and Shelby County. Chlamydia, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, HPV, HIV/Aids Speaker will explain how STIs are transmitted, how they affect the body, and how to avoid getting an STI.

Topic: 3 Let’s Talk Reproductive System

Description: Speaker will explain the female and male reproductive systems. Review the parts and functions of both and how they work together.

Topic 4: Guy Talk

Description: Speaker will review the male anatomy, basic hygiene, healthy consent, abstinence, how to prevent STI/HIV, responsibility, and where to find birth control in Memphis

Topic 5: The Talk- Parents Only

Description: Parents (or those parent-adjacent) will receive tips on how to have the conversation regarding uncomfortable topics with their children by leading without judgement. Learning to listen for understanding and responding with love and compassion.
