Join Kansas City PBS and AARP Kansas City for My Mama Joe: Hope & Help, a free community screening and Q&A on dementia, caregiving, and resilience featuring Herb Caldwell, Film’s Producer and Director and Kelly G. Loeb, MSW, The Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, KU Medical Center.


This powerful documentary tells the story of Mama Joe—a champion for community and maternal force whose life of service was interrupted by early-onset dementia. Through the voices of family, scholars, and leaders in public health, the film explores the challenges and resilience of caregiving for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30 p.m. Following the program, there will be a fireside chat and interactive Q&A from 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. with Herb Caldwell & Kelly G. Loeb, MSW, The Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, KU Medical Center.
