"My Dinner with Morgan at Remedy Diner"

Yoshiko Chuma and The School of Hard Knocks continue their boundary-defying journey with “My Dinner with Morgan at Remedy Diner,” unfolding in four new chapters from June 13–15, 2025, presented by Allied Productions and hosted by Jack Waters and Peter Cramer.

This evolving performance work honors the legacy of Morgan Jenness, a longtime collaborator and dramaturg who passed away in November 2024, just weeks before she was set to perform with Chuma at La MaMa. Their shared conversations over the course of a year shaped this project, originally inspired by My Dinner with Andre but transformed through grief, improvisation, and radical acts of presence.

Part installation, part memorial, and part reunion, this performance continues The School of Hard Knocks’ 45-year legacy of experimental, time-based work. This is the company’s 45th secret anniversary, marking 45 artists and 45 stories—shared, hidden, unfinished.
