Celebrate the opening night of Sigal Music Museum’s American Voices exhibition with a captivating concert featuring Stephanie Schmidt and Robin Morace, two distinguished artists dedicated to bringing early American music to life on authentic period instruments.
Stephanie Schmidt’s passion for historical keyboards has guided her from Nebraska to North Carolina and beyond, earning her invitations to perform on rare pianos from the mid-18th to mid-19th centuries. Her work highlights the expressive beauty of domestically scaled, uniquely voiced American pianofortes—an exploration she has shared at conferences, museums, and previous appearances at Sigal Music Museum.
Joining her is pianist Robin Morace, whose artistry spans modern and historical keyboards. Trained at SUNY Fredonia and UNC Greensboro, Robin has studied with world-renowned early keyboard specialists and performed widely on 18th- and 19th-century instruments, including several in Sigal’s own collection.
Together, Stephanie and Robin will offer an intimate and illuminating evening of early music—an inspiring beginning to our American Voices exhibition and a rare chance to hear America’s musical past played on the instruments that shaped it.
