Music at Dumbarton Oaks is thrilled to welcome back to the Music Room the extraordinary Hungarian pianist Dénes Várjon, one of today’s most inspiring and highly regarded contributors to international musical life. The list of Várjon’s honors and awards is too long to include here. He credits fellow Hungarian musicians such as György Kurtág, Ferenc Rados, András Schiff, and Sándor Végh as important influencers for many of his musical discoveries. Várjon’s thoughtfully curated program that includes works by Handel, Mozart, Brahms, Schumann, and Liszt, promises to be a highlight of the season.
