Mushroom Growing and Climate Change- Lunchtime Learning

By FEL Scotland
Online event

Overview

An hour long online session on how mushrooms can help with climate adaptation and why you should grow them at home.

Overview

Marco Tenconi, with Rhyze Mushroom Co-op, will introduce us to the different ways we can work with fungal allies to build resilience - Exploring the potential of a ‘radical mycology’ we will consider how mushrooms can help us transform our food system from one that is based on total exploitation of land and labour to one that strengthens and nurtures our communities.

About Rhyze Mushrooms Co-op

Rhyze is a community mushroom farm and education project based in Edinburgh. We grow Oyster and Lion's Mane mushrooms from local business waste, we run workshops and classes spreading mushroom cultivation skills and we carry out research and engagement projects to further grassroots mycology.

Each Lunchtime Learning session will highlight expert knowledge and practical insights, with recordings made available to our members after the events.

Our events will be hosted onine, a link will be sent with your booking or accessed via Eventbrite.

These sessions also contribute to our Community Grower Leadership Programme, which asks for leaders to take part in 3 sessions, one from each theme of;
