Come join us on a guided tour of the delicious fungi of the PNW. Fall mushroom foraging is so exciting- but it can be hard to know where to start! This guided hike & instructional lecture is designed for beginner and intermediate foragers to gather fungi in a safe, fun and educational environment. Together we'll learn about some easy and delicious fungi to find, gather those tasty mushrooms, then create a delicious meal to share!
Students will be instructed in core aspects of mushroom ID, safe and sustainable harvest, and how to prepare and cook their wild harvest. Shelby will offer insight into how to forage mushrooms safely and ethically and preparation, to ways of reading the forest for clues about what type of mushrooms students might encounter.
Students will leave with written materials, full bellies and a deeper appreciation for the magical fungi of our bioregion. You may even have a basket full of extra mushrooms to take home!
