Anything can happen on the bus, and Muni Diaries is here to prove it. Come hear the funny, weird, poignant, and always-true stories about every San Franciscan's favorite love-hate relationship: Muni!

Muni Diaries Live is returning to the stage at Rickshaw Stop on April 13, 2023 with even more tales from Muni, BART, and everywhere in between. And we're not above pulling milestone rank: help us celebrate 🥳 15 years of storytelling 🥳 in our favorite city!

In honor of our moody web teen, on a school night (!), we'll have local art for sale from HangLoes, and we’re bringing back the Muni Haiku Battle for yet another showdown.

Here’s a sneak peek at our storytellers:

Jill Sutherlin is a Bay Area native proudly hailing from Oakland. She is the co-owner of The Refinery Grooming Club: an independently owned upscale barbershop located in the Mission. When she is not cracking jokes and giving fades to her clients, she is a DJ at BFF.FM: an SF, internet-based, community-run radio station. She also founded United Streets Direct Care, a nonprofit donating on-site hair-care services to the unhoused communities in SF, Oakland, and Modesto. She prides herself for not only turning floppy hair into close tapered cuts, but also turning strangers into friends.

Kurt M. Schwartzmann is an artist, printmaker, and photographer. In 2006 he lost all vision in his left eye due to complications of AIDS. He draws en plein air and his limited vision gives him a unique ability to focus in on his subjects and their surroundings, while blocking out external influences. His preferred drawing format is tall and narrow, 3 1/2 " x 16 1/2”, because each drawing shows a slice of life as he sees it.

Mc Allen is a two time Muni Diaries Live contestant, and one time champion. In 2018 he and his kids rode every Muni line end to end in a single summer. Mc is a lover of San Francisco, the city he has called home for 20 years. He believes in the power of Slow Streets, Great Walkways, Transit Only Lanes and No Parking Signs. Mc's poetry has appeared in The San Franciscan Magazine and the Bay City Beacon. He's been a guest of the Total SF, Roll Over Easy and 99% Invisible podcasts, and he has been quoted in the local newspaper. He lives in Dogpatch with his wife and kids. Oh, and he is a Muni Operator!

Stay tuned for more storytellers as we unveil the full lineup in the coming weeks.
