Join perfumer Yosh Han, tactile designer Naomi Rosenberg, and composer Danny Clay for the culminating event of their summer-long residency, "Multisensory Dialogue."
This two-hour event will consist of a variety of hands-on exhibits, installations, and performances combining their respective sensory disciplines, including:
- An interactive collection of custom-made "multisensory cloches" that combine scent, tactile textures, and sound into single objects that each represent a concept (i.e. 'dense', 'lively', 'chaos', 'kind').
- A 30-minute performance featuring live scent and touch-inspired musical improvisations by Hwayoung Shon (gayageum), Kevin Rogers (violin), and Jessie Nucho (flute), with a custom-made program that features scented and tactile elements.
- Hands-on exploratory stations that allow guests to mix and match "sensory swatches," creating their own scented bouquets that correspond to musical ideas and tactile textures.
- An interactive sculptural "discovery path" with sound and scent components.
- An interactive "tactile sampler" that allows guests to hear different combinations of textures as sound.
