Many counselors continue to have difficulties reaching children of color, especially in urban/inner city areas. Multiculturalism; A model geared toward being more successful with improving the self-esteem and image of children of color is a course that may help with that. Studies show that instilling ancestral pride along with traditional counseling models could be successful in reaching this population.
