In this class we will go over mug making mugs from rudimentary throwing to the theory behind mug shapes and functional ornamentation to create interesting mug shapes that are fitting to different lifestyles and purposes but are also objects of beauty. Whether you are a beginner starting on your throwing journey and searching for consistency, or a potter further in their journey looking for ways to expand your repertoire you can find something in this class to learn.

Included in the class is access to our Wednesday open studios (5-7pm) during the course, and one bonus open studio to finish up any glazing after all of the work has been bisque fired. All clay and glaze used during class is included- additional clay is available for purchase for creating new work during open studios.

This class is taught by visiting artist Nathen Peck. Nathen has developed this class based on his art practice - this is the only time he will be teaching this here at Alchemy, so if you are interested, be sure to sign up!

This class is held in the ceramics studio on the AAC campus. Directions and parking information will be included in your confirmation email.

Class Dates: Thursday 10/2 and Thursday 10/9 from 5-8pm.

Registration: Please register early if you are able, as it helps us to assure that classes meet their minimums in order to run! If you register more than three weeks before this class begins, a 20% early bird discount will automatically be applied to your ticket at checkout.

Sustaining tickets help us continue to invest in programming. Full price tickets cover the costs associated with running classes.
