MTSS Framework and Response to Instruction and Intervention Process for English Learners: Frameworks, Processes and Strategies to Enhance English Language Proficiency and Academic Performance in Reading (Virtual)

*This is a two (2) day virtual event - Saturday, October 17, 2020 and Saturday, October 24, 2020.

 To attend the event please purchase a Day 1 ticket and choose up to (3) three Day 2 tickets you'd like to participate in.

Audience: General Education Teachers, Site Administrators, Language and Literacy Specialists, and EL Teachers

Presenter: Jo Gusman, EL Program Consultant, School Improvement Facilitator, Bilingual Education Cross-Cultural Specialist, biliteracy Reading Instruction Specialist, and Author

Description: This two-part online session with Jo Gusman will help teachers and administrators better meet the language, literacy, and academic needs of English Learners and all culturally and linguistically diverse students under multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS). Participants will learn a powerful Culturally Responsive Curriculum and Instruction Framework and Jo’s Mind-Brain-Education Science (MBE) English Language Development and English Language Arts/Reading processes and strategies. In addition to MBE, Jo will employ her expertise on the neurobiology of bilingualism and biliteracy research, Culturally Responsive Education frameworks, and her four decades of teaching experience. Participants will receive the Seminar Resource Handbook: Response to Instruction and Intervention: Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Frameworks, Processes and Strategies to Enhance the Academic Performance of Your CLD and EL Students. These will be mailed to each paid participant.

 Itinerary: On the first day, join Jo for a three-hour webinar where she provides the content described in the outcomes above.

On the second day, participate in up to three of the 30-minute MBE Solution Seekers Cafés© - coaching/solution seeking sessions, each focused on a specific topic.
