Mr. Nobody Against Putin: Screening and Reception

Mr. Nobody Against Putin: Screening and Reception

By The Wende Museum

Overview

A Sundance-winning documentary offering a rare look at how war is sold to children and how dissent survives under pressure.

Join us for a special screening of Mr. Nobody Against Putin, the Sundance-winning documentary that exposes how the Russian state reshapes childhood and citizenship through the classroom.

As Russia launches its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, schools across the country become recruitment sites for the war. In a remote mining town, a primary school teacher is tasked with filming “patriotic education” sessions meant to instill loyalty to the war. Instead, he turns the camera toward the indoctrination of students, capturing the pressure to conform and the quiet acts of dissent that survive inside the system. Shot undercover at great personal risk, the film offers an unfiltered look at how propaganda operates on the most intimate level: the education of children.

Before the screening begins, guests are invited to join a complimentary garden reception.
