About this event

Music • Classical

Join us for a concert that takes you on a rich journey through time, color, and character —beginning with Rossini’s sparkling humor, moving through contemporary invention, pausing in an impressionistic dreamscape, and concluding with Beethoven’s radiant Fourth Symphony.

The program includes a work by Quinn Mason (b. 1996) who has distinguished himself as an artist of national and international renown and has been praised as “one of the most sought after young composers in the country” (Texas Monthly) and “a composer who clearly understands the orchestra and knows how to take advantage of its many varied colors.” (Tallahassee Democrat).

Doors will open at 3:30 PM and the program will be performed with a brief intermission.

Program

  • Gioachino Rossini: Overture to Il signor Bruschino
  • Claude Debussy: Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun
  • Quinn Mason: Petite Symphonie de Chambre Contemporaine (après Milhaud)
  • Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 4 in B flat major, Op. 60
