Motivating Students to Learn without AI

Overview

Explore strategies for motivating students to engage in thinking and learning without relying on generative AI.

Given the plethora of generative AI tools that can complete assignments for students with the click of a button, it is more important than ever to create meaningful learning opportunities that motivate students to engage in the hard work of thinking and learning. This workshop explores strategies for fostering student motivation through four key elements: ownership in the learning process, clear relevance of coursework, supportive peer relationships, and appropriately challenging tasks. The session will include examples of each element in practice.

This session is only open to Northeastern University students, staff and educators. Please use your Northeastern email when registering.
